Halloween: Silhouette Rosette

Silhouette art has been around since the mid-18 century. Originally this type of technique  was used on locket designsThey were painted on gesso and glass backings; Nowadays made on polymer clay and paper covered with resin ..

We are making vintage inspired silhouette rosettes for our Halloween decoration; Using construction paper, news paper or old pages from a book. Also we need a glue stick, white glue, a hole puncher and scissors.

Fold the paper to 1 inch size pleats,
creating several pleats until completely folded.

Fold the paper in half and glue the it center together.

Construct another fan and glue it to the first fan.

make sure that you glue the as well.

Make holes at the edges as many as you like

Cut a 5 x 5 inch white paper or the newspaper and fold it two times draw a shape and cut.

Add details with the hole puncher.
Cut a 3 inch circle and add details or leave as is.
Adding the last layer of the rosette cut the last circle,
this circle is is about 2 inches.
Draw and Cut the silhouette.
Glue the silhouette.

TIP: Save the punches for later or add them to the rosette.
